The Fireside Room is a premier event center located in Portage, IN, since 2023. We are family owned and operated venue and hall rental. We specialize in providing a beautiful and memorable setting for weddings, celebrations, birthdays, funeral luncheons, anniversaries, business meetings, and holiday parties. Our experienced and friendly staff makes sure that your special day is one to remember! We are proud to serve the Valparaiso, Chesterton, and La Porte areas. Our Story

Welcome to The Fireside Room, where you are about to embark on an unforgettable journey. Step into this renowned wedding venue nestled in the heart of Portage, IN, and immerse yourself in its enchanting atmosphere. Led by our visionary owner and founder, Suzi Colville, and her husband, Rich Colville, this place holds a remarkable story. Suzi stumbled upon this hidden gem while on her way home from MI, and a spark of serendipity ignited. With a mischievous chuckle, she called Rich, asking if he wanted to buy a building. Little did she know that she was about to uncover a deeply personal connection. As Suzi revealed that it was the Old Scout Hut, Rich shared a surprising revelation—they both had familial ties to this very place. His grandfather and uncle had constructed it in the 1950s. Memories flooded back as Suzi recalled her own experiences, walking to the Scout hut after school for her brownie and girl scout meetings. The intertwining of their histories adds an extra layer of significance, making The Fireside Room an extraordinary venue with a rich tapestry of stories to tell.
